The Culture & Affective Neuroscience Lab (CANLab) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), directed by Dr. Jiyoung Park, investigates how socio-cultural environments shape the functions of emotion and the conditions under which they are adaptive or maladaptive. We take a multi-level approach, integrating methods from social/experimental psychology, psychophysiology, and neuroscience to examine how emotional processes operate across cultural contexts, with implications for health, behavior, and social relationships. Explore our website to learn more about our research and team.
